Welcome to CanvasMax Art. This Returns & Refund Policy explains the terms under which returns, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds are handled for purchases made through CanvasMaxArt.com, owned and operated by Sujeewa Hettithanthri ("Artist," "we," "our," or "us").

By purchasing artwork, prints, subscription rentals, or commission services from our website, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Original Paintings

Returns

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not completely satisfied with an original painting, you may request a return within 14 days of receiving the artwork.

To be eligible for a return:

  • The artwork must be returned in its original condition.

  • The artwork must not be damaged, altered, or modified.

  • The customer must provide proof of purchase.

Refunds

Once the returned artwork has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If approved:

  • The refund will be issued to the original payment method.

  • Original shipping fees (if any) are non-refundable.

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the artwork arrived damaged or incorrect.

2. Prints

Because prints are produced specifically for each order, all print sales are generally final and non-refundable.

Exceptions may be made if:

  • The print arrives damaged.

  • The wrong item was shipped.

  • There is a manufacturing defect.

Claims for damaged or defective prints must be submitted within 7 days of delivery and should include photographs of the item and packaging.

3. Commissioned Artwork

Commissioned artwork is custom-created according to the customer's requirements.

Non-Refundable Deposits

Any deposit paid to begin a commission is non-refundable.

Cancellation Before Work Begins

If a commission is cancelled before work has started, any amount paid beyond the deposit may be refunded.

Cancellation After Work Begins

Once work has commenced, refunds are not available due to the time, labor, and materials invested in creating the artwork.

Final Approval

Customers are encouraged to review sketches, concepts, and progress updates carefully. Once the commissioned artwork has been approved and completed, it cannot be returned or refunded.

4. Subscription Artwork Rentals

For artwork rented through our subscription service:

Cancellation

Subscribers may cancel their subscription according to the terms provided during signup.

Artwork Returns

Rented artwork must be returned in good condition upon cancellation or exchange.

Damage

Customers may be charged repair or replacement costs for artwork returned with excessive damage beyond normal wear and tear.

Refunds

Subscription fees already paid are generally non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

5. Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery.

  2. Include your order number.

  3. Provide clear photographs showing the issue.

After review, we may:

  • Replace the item;

  • Repair the issue where possible;

  • Provide a full or partial refund at our discretion.

6. Shipping Costs

United States and Canada

We provide free shipping on eligible artwork orders shipped to addresses within the United States and Canada.

International Orders

Customers outside the United States and Canada are responsible for applicable shipping charges, duties, taxes, customs fees, and import charges imposed by their country.

Shipping fees paid for international orders are non-refundable unless required by law.

7. Refund Processing Time

Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your payment provider and financial institution.
